Our company participated in the IV INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “TITANIUM – 2016: PRODUCTION AND USAGE IN AIRCRAFT INDUSTRY” held 3-4 November in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. 

The Conference organizers:

Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science; Motor Sich Corporation (Zaporozhye); Zaporozhye Titanium & Magnesium Combine Ltd; Zaporozhye National Technical University; State Research & Design Titanium Institute (Zaporozhye). 

The conference level was extremely high. More than 250 leading scientists and professionals from Ukrainian titanium industry have attended the event. Foreign partakers from Germany, Republic of Korea, Israel and New Zealand were also present.Almost all the leading research and industrial organisations operating in Ukrainian titanium industry were represented.

At the Conference Visa-Service Ltd was represented by the Managing Director Yu.V. Smolyak and A/Prof S.P. Panov with the presentations: “Production of Wrought Work Pieces from Aircraft VT20 Alloy” & “Development of Titanium Powder Metallurgy in Zaporozhye Region” respectively.

The Event has clearly demonstrated cutting edge technological developments of Ukrainian scientists and professionals working in titanium industry 

The Meeting has given a great impetus for the advance of innovative technologies, novel equipment designs, cost reduction, etc in titanium metal/alloy production and processing

It was also valuable for the activation of unique research and production activities and capabilities for not only experienced academics and industrial professionals from various organisations but also for post-graduate and doctoral university students who are the future of the titanium industry 

The Conference has underlined a special place for the city of Zaporozhye in Ukrainian titanium manufacture. Here a full cycle of metal production from ilmenite and rutile concentrates to final titanium articles has been successfully developed for many decades.

The outcome of the Conference might be considered as the first step of the Ukrainian participation in the International Titanium Club which currently includes seven countries.
